SHAPE Bible Study dates set

Wednesday evenings during Lent (mostly), February 7 - March 21

We will start one week before the beginning of Lent so we can get the study’s six sessions in before Holy Week. Also, there will be no class on Ash Wednesday (February 14) so everyone can attend the traditional Ash Wednesday service.

The study will be led by Norma Dennis, using materials developed by Pastor Rick Warren and the staff of Saddleback Church. The course will include video and audio presentations as well as direct Bible study and discussion by those attending the sessions. The idea is that everyone has a specific and unique spiritual shape based on:

Spiritual gifts God has given you;

Heart (what your heart desires and understands);

Abilities you inherit and develop;

Personality traits built into you;

Experiences you have had in your life.

“You made my whole being; You formed me in my mother’s body. I praise You because You made me in an amazing and wonderful way. You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother’s body. When I was put together there, You saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in Your book before I was one day old.”

––Psalm 139:13-16 (NCV)

Annual Congregational Meeting

Council has scheduled the Annual Meeting for January 21, following the worship service. The proposed budget, as presented to the congregation at the Promotional Meeting in November, will be presented for final approval; reports for 2017 will be presented by the pastor and treasurer. Because this is a regular meeting, other business may also be presented.
